Summer 2011

This summer I have savored and enjoyed every single page of the books that I have read. Since being in school full time has not facilitated my leisure reading habit. Therefore during this blissful period of warm days, pools side afternoons, and late nights I have enjoyed reading because I really can't put a book down and not because I have to know what people are talking about tomorrow!!! lol.

During the 3 months I have read 15 books. Some have made me cry while others have made me laugh. Always my friends and companions and during the summer I always take the time to try and share my passion for reading with my kids. Show them all the places that these books have taken me without leaving the comfort of my home. My son only 6 is right there with me learning about volcanoes, earthquakes, lightning, and snakes. He absolutely loves it and inhales the books as soon as we get them. My daughter on the other hand seems to have a love hate relationship with reading. She enjoys it when she gets into it but it takes her awhile to warm up to it.

Enough of that I will leave by leaving my favorite book of the summer. It was The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This book intended for teenagers gives you something to think about how we see war and jade ourselves to injustices.

I shall continue on my quest to reading the next book until school starts again. :(
